Summer is Here!!

Modest Is Hottest!!!!

OK, that may be literally in the summer, but you get the idea right?

Summer is approaching and so are the worldly fashions. L

Just a little reminder that Modesty is a Must in CG2nd!!

No sleeveless ness, spaghetti straps, tank tops, short shorts or short skirts should be worn at mutual or to church. . Shorts and skirts must come to the knees. Any questions, you can ask or refer to you Strength of Youth books.

Hey, could it be that one of the Personal Progress goals talks about Modesty as well? Now is a great time to take a look at that goal!!!

Girls Camp Prep

Our theme for Girl's Camp this year is Hold Your Torches High. Our ward country this year is China. The girls created our ward flag using China's flag and Chinese letters that stand for Integrity which is our value for camp. Our character that ties this all together is Disney's Mulan.

Each of our Young Women and leaders created shirts to wear to camp. They chose Chinese symbols that were meaningful to them and used puff paint to write them on their shirts.

Each ward is asked to decorate their mailbox! Our ladies painted and glued China inspired flowers and themes to represent our ward.

Below is our final product :) What a fun night!!!

Swim Party

We had a combined activity for all the YW and YM swim party on Wednesday the 13th. Their was a great turn out and everyone had a great time swimming, playing games and eating Popsicles.

SEWING

For our Wednesday activity on May 6th the Laurels and Mia Maids learned about modesty and how to sew. Sis. Edington came in and did a wonderful job teaching us to sew. I know that we all learned a much needed skill. Thanks Sis. Edington!

Temple Trip

Today was our turn to go the the Temple to do baptisms. It was a great experience!

Hiking CG Mountain

For Wednesday's activity the Mia Maids and Laurels hiked Casa Gande Mountain. The weather was nice and the view was beautiful. Once we got to the top (or at least most of the way there!) we made really yummy smores! Thanks to the YM for planning a fun activity.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser

Saturday April 25th we had our Girls Camp Fundraiser. It was a lot of work and we made TONS of cookie dough!! Great job ladies for selling so much and working so hard. Girls camp here we come!
